Unlike any other normal day, today the forest was not quiet, it was filled with the snapping of twigs, the rustling of bushes as a canine moved forward at a steady jog. Silence and stealth was not needed here, the canine was not hunting nor was he trying to sneak up on anything. Quite the contrary, he wanted the forest to know of his presence today. Today, the mastiff mix wanted to be heard before he was seen, yes, today he was being generous to the light hearted, he was alerting them to the presence of a massive creature, one that was not hungry, but would have no problem lashing out and tormenting any he saw. Of course, that was assuming that anyone was even around.
There were plenty of animals, he had seen deer lift their heads high, ears flicking alertly to the noises he made and always running off as soon as he was spotted. There were birds, they paused in their songs to take note of him, but it was obvious he was not hunting, he was not a danger to any wildlife and so they picked up their song again, ignoring his bold behavior. The other, smaller land creatures that he saw scurrying about made sure to stay well away from him, scurrying up trees, dashing off in little hopping motions, or ducking down low to avoid being seen- it was a failed attempt but today he was in a good mood and he humored them. Next time he would not be so generous.
The mastiff mix had no real business to be out of his cave, aside from finding members to share it with and well… he was bored. Boredom was not a good thing for the mastiff mix, his mind roamed in idle, such ramblings of his mind caused a need to cause pain, not to him, but to others. That was why he was crashing through the forest in the middle of the day, the brindle mastiff-esque creature was bored and he wanted to inflict damage however he could- that or recruit a member…perhaps he could do both? The thought made his lips purse in the beginnings of a smirk; he liked the idea of killing two birds with one stone.
There were few dogs of his mind set in town, that he had come to realize shortly after arriving, but with his arrival he was sure there would be others and while he wanted to be the top dog in town he had no problem waiting patiently for his moment to appear. For now he would let the house pets and street urchins have their time on the thrown, soon it would be his turn to take the thrown and he wouldn’t be giving it back.
