cruentilla roza di vinci
today wasn't what some would call the nicest of days. the cold wind could send shivers up even the fluffiest of dogs and the clouds hovered above, a menacing dark grey color, threatening to burst and rain on the dogs. knowing this place, it probably would. cruentilla shook her coat, already damp from her earlier swim. the lighthouse, which served so many other purposes, also had become her sanctuary. the threats of ghosts kept all the cowardly dogs away, the stairs kept all the weak and lazy creatures away. that was another great thing about the lighthouse. if they made it to the top then they were definitely worth her time, they would be neither cowardly nor lazy. yes, those stairs safegaurded her from the idiots of the world. cruentilla smiled, a movement that lightened up her features and enhanced her natural beauty. she padded forward, towards the doorway of the lighthouse. out of habit, she looked around for any guests before slinking in. the warm mildewy smell of something that had been rotting in water for way too long greeted her. but this, like so many other things, was worth it. by the time she'd get to the top, the smell would be gone. with that thought, she padded up the stairs, taking it step by step. it slowed everything down, but cruentilla was by no means in a rush to go anywhere. the sun was edging back towards the horizon, soon this day, like so many other things, would be over. upon reaching the top, rue felt an icey breeze upon her face. despite herself, she shivered. the door to the upper deck was open, rattling on it hinges as it hit the wall. cruentilla sighed, going over to it and trying to nose it shut. after a few minutes of nosing and shoving, the door finally clicked on the latch and stayed shut. the collie sighed, going over to the bed and hoping onto it. after nosing a few blankets back into the desired position, she curled up in it, trying to resist the sigh of relief that came. god she hoped someone would come walking up those stairs and help release the tension in her figure. maybe she'd even let them get it for free, just because they'd be helping her out. that seemed kind enough, didn't it? cruentilla rested her head on her paws, eyes half open and watching the door, the hope and desire she felt leaving her unable to fully relax enough to sleep.
